Editorial Policy
How we produce, verify and correct our journalism and broker research, and how commercial considerations are kept separate from news coverage and review scores.
Effective at launch · Reviewed annually
How topics are selected
Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team based on relevance to readers: broker regulation and conduct, scheduled economic events, central-bank decisions, regulatory announcements and significant market moves. Commercial staff have no input into topic selection.
How sources are verified
Factual claims must be traceable to an identified source: official statements, regulator registers, published company documents or named market data. Every article lists its sources, and broker reviews record retrieval dates. Anonymous sourcing is not used for factual market reporting.
How authors are assigned
Articles are assigned according to subject expertise. Every article carries a named author or desk. Authors must disclose personal holdings relevant to their coverage; conflicted authors are reassigned.
How news differs from opinion
News reports facts attributed to sources. Analysis reflects an author’s interpretation, is labelled as Market Analysis and carries a standing notice that it is general commentary, not personalised advice or a prediction. Factual reporting on regulation is clearly distinguished from editorial opinion.
How broker reviews are researched
Reviews follow the published Broker Review Methodology: identical documented criteria for every broker, verification on official regulator registers, and published sources with retrieval dates. Strengths and limitations receive equal prominence.
Brands operated by the publisher are researched with the same checklist and sources, but their scores are set by the publisher rather than calculated with the rubric. Each of those pages carries that disclosure.
How conflicts are managed
The publisher, its owners, directors, employees or associated companies may have commercial, ownership or other relationships with financial-services businesses reviewed on this website. Material relationships are disclosed within the relevant review and listed on our About Us and Policies page. Scores for brands the publisher operates are set by the publisher and labelled as such; all other scores follow the published methodology, and any change to the methodology applies to all brokers and is recorded publicly.
How corrections are made
Errors are corrected promptly. Material corrections are noted on the article or review with the date and nature of the change, and every review carries a public update history. Readers can report errors using the contact details on our About Us and Policies page.
How AI-assisted content is checked
AI tools may assist with drafting, translation or data processing. All material facts are reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI must never be used to invent any of the following:
Regulatory licencesCompany entitiesFeesAwardsUser numbersPerformance statisticsBroker featuresQuotesSources
How sponsored content is labelled
Paid content is labelled at the beginning using one of: Sponsored, Paid Partnership, Advertisement or Commercial Content. Ambiguous labels such as Partner Story, Featured, Recommended or In Association With are not used. Sponsored content never influences editorial review scores.
How review scores are protected from commercial influence
Scoring is carried out against the fixed public rubric by the research team and recorded with sources. Commercial staff have no access to scoring documents before publication.
The exception is the small number of brands the publisher operates. Those scores are set by the publisher, and we label them on the review and in the comparison table so that readers never mistake them for a rubric result.
